Art Videos
I make art videos that lures you in with humor—and leaves you thinking.
Using iPad apps, I create art videos that remix appropriated GIFs or fragments of digital culture. With iMovie and other mobile tools, I lift, sample, and stitch together unexpected images from American, Mexican, and Chicano life—icons, symbols, satire, and snippets of history—rearranged to provoke and play.
My compositions follow grids and patterns, but they’re not afraid to misbehave. I use repetition, distortion, and exaggeration—like visual punchlines—to stir emotion and crack open meaning. Abstraction dances with realism. Simplification side-eyes complexity.
As a Chicano artist, I carry culture like a punchline—sharp, layered, and often unexpected. My sense of place shifts like a border drawn in sand or a line that lands a little too close to truth. I remix memory and media with wit—folding in politics with a smirk, sociology with sarcasm, and identity with irony.
My work doesn’t preach—it pokes. It laughs at what hurts. It flips symbols on their heads. It celebrates survival with satire and side-eye.
